Child poverty around the world is one of the most pressing issues we face as a global society. And when over 300 million of our most vulnerable citizens currently suffer from it, we must act to intervene.

Did you know 333 million children live in extreme poverty, according to the most recent information from the World Bank?  That is roughly equal to the population of the entire United States in 2023.  Our hearts were broken when we read this shocking statistic in a recent blog post by our partner organization, Outreach International.

Since 1979, Outreach International has facilitated community-led development to address poverty-related issues worldwide.  They work tirelessly to end poverty by empowering communities’ participation and personal investment in their successful outcomes.  But what can you do when the problem affects so many children?  Outreach International addresses this by detailing its holistic approach, prioritizing education, healthcare, social development and protection, and economic empowerment to ensure every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

In their recent blog post, Outreach International goes in-depth into the definitions, descriptions, causes, and statistics of child poverty.  While some of these statistics may weigh heavily on our hearts, we are not without hope.  Outreach International also offers ways to fight against child poverty and help those in need.
